Ready to join Water Polo?

Minimun Requirements

-CONFIDENT IN DEEP WATER
-CAN SWIM 50 meter
-last the whole 1 hour traning session

To join our Club you'll need to complete the following steps: 

1) Print off and complete the Application for Membership form.
This asks for your contact details and next of kin. It also requires confirmation that you have read the Club Rules and agree to abide by them.
Annual registration fee is £20 sibling £15 to be paid in January each year.

2) Print off and fill in one of the following Swim England (ASA) registration forms:( ASA renewal in January each year)

ASA Category 2 & Multi Club membership - print and complete this form if you are intending to compete for the Club as a water polo player. 

Also use this form if you are already registered with the ASA for another club but wish to compete for Barnet as an additional club. You can check whether you already have Swim England (ASA) registration here. https://www.swimmingresults.org/membershipcheck/

Swim England (ASA) Category 1 & 3 membership - print and complete this form (ticking 'Category 1') if you do not intend to compete for Barnet Water polo Club. If you're not sure whether you will want to compete, use this form and we can upgrade your Swim England (ASA) category at a later date.

3) Payment to be submitted by term.

4) No refund or compensation is available for non attendance, for special circumstances please contact the club ,
for injury outside the club if payment has been submitted please obtain a medical certificate or a GP letter.
(Theory session will be advised to be attended)

5) Pool cancelation : The session will be rescheduled to a near available date.

6) Joining fee: If you leave and re-join you will be asked to pay the fee again.

7) Once submitted the term fee for an individual session is not possible to change it with different session day.

New Member:
New members will be required to pay the Joining fee and  Asa membership fee and club annual membership fee  as a lump sum. 

Resigning from the club:
If you are leaving the club please contact the club by email.

Re-Joining the club:
former members that have left for more than one term wishing to re -join the club will pay the joining fee and annual membership fee and ASA if not renewed. 

Temporary suspension:
You may apply to temporary suspension of your term subs by writing to the club. Example due to pregnancy ,relocation, personal circumstances.

Late Payment policy:
Failure to pay will result in:
After 7 days
A polite reminder, via email or text , will be sent by the Accounts Team.
After 14 days
Swimmer’s ability to train will be withdrawn.
After 30 days
An urgent request for payment will be issued in writing, asking for payment by return.
Membership may be suspended until that payment is made or a request for flexible
payment terms received. Failure to pay may result in termination of membership of
the Club with the vacant position being offered to another child.
After 60 days
No request for flexible payment terms will be considered after 60 days and
membership will be deemed to have terminated.
Termination of membership will be formally agreed by the Club’s Executive and the
member notified in writing to the address on record. No appeal against termination in
these circumstances will be available.

An administration charge of £10 may be imposed for any late, missed or partial
payments where no satisfactory explanation is given. Persistent offender’s
membership may be terminated at the discretion of the Executive.


 
6) If you will be (or are likely to be) playing in the British Water Polo League you also need to complete an ASA Medical Declaration, even if you are not taking any medication. This needs to be sent directly to the ASA at the address given on the form itself. We recommend you keep a copy for your own records.


What happens next?

Please scan the two completed forms (Application for Membership and ASA Registration) and send them to Club Secretary.

Once we have received your payment we will process your ASA registration and send an email confirming that your membership is complete.

You may train with the Club while your registration is being processed, but you may not compete for Barnet Water polo Club until you receive confirmation from the Membership Secretary.

Rule 1 : Drop off/ Pick up Arrangements 

Please note that at this stage the club does not offer waiting facilities at the pool side please use the pool lobby if available and we would recommend that your child is dropped off only 5 minutes before starting time and picked up on time.

Parents or legal Guardians are responsible to dropping off students in the swimming pool or meeting point at the beginning of each lesson and pick up the members promptly.


Parents with learning difficulty or disability children's please contact the club.



Rule 2 : Absence 1

Absences should be notified whenever possible in advance to the club by email.


Rule 3 : Safety

We request that all Members keep their belongings safe.

the club is not responsible during changing room area.




Rule 4 : Members Personal Belonging

Members are responsible for the security and safe use of all personal property and Parents or legal Guardians are responsible for ensuring that all such property is clearly marked with the owner name

Members are not recommended to bring any valuables to the pool (e.g.jewellery, tablets, money, mp3, etc.) as the club cannot accept any responsibility for any loss or damaged property.


Mobile phones should be switched off before lessons start and handled to their coaches.


Rule 5 : Admission

Members will be considered enrolled onto the course when registration has been completed and the necessary fee has been paid 

Enrolment fee must be paid in full at registration 


Rule 6: Registration Process 


By registering your child /children The Parent or Legal Guardian confirms that have read ,understood and agree to Members rules and that your child attending the course for the full year.

Parents contributions ( enrolment fee) are not refundable once the courses are due to commence or have commenced , no refund or compensation is available for non attendance ,withdrawal or change of mind


Rule 7: Behaviour 

1)

Members must, at all times behave sensibly, courteously and with consideration for others, both in and out of club.

the club will reserve the right to suspend or terminate the booking without refund ,where members acts or omissions are such that it will be unreasonable for them to continue their training on the courses.


2)

Members must move quietly about the corridors and staircases at all times and pool setting , keeping to the right-hand side. They may not run along corridors or staircases.


3)

All damage to pool property must be reported at once to a member of staff ,with full damage may be charged to the Member responsible.


4)

No Member may leave the premises during club hours without permission from the coach and Head coach , a senior member of staff.( if happened the club will not be count responsible)


5)

Students and all adults are forbidden to smoke on or around the school premises. 


6)

Members should not chew gum on school premises or at any time during training hours, if found to be chewing members will be placed in SMT detention


Rule 8: Bicycle 

Members who bring bicycles to pool must provide and use safety locks. Bicycles may not be ridden on the pool premises.


Rule 9 : Absence 2

Parents must inform the club via email if a member will not be attending due to illness or holiday,

Parents agree that member who is ill (fever ,diarrhoea, or any other type of illness that may be passed on to other ,with exception of the common cold)will be kept at home ,to protect the well being of other members.


Rule 10: Pet 

With the exception of guide dogs, dogs are not allowed on site.


Rule 11 :Attendance

Members are expected to attend training regularly and on time ,members are not entitled to refund if they are late ,absent ,or leave before the course ends.



Rule 12 : Extra expenses

The price of any competition will be charged separately from training fees 


Rule 13: Timetable

Rule 14: Make up Lessons

in the event of a session being cancelled, the club will offer a replacement session at the end of the year if this is not possible the session will be offered on different day of the week.

session missed due to major event such a weather condition or unexpected closure by the venue will not be replaced or refunded

Refund is offered only if training are not commencing 


Rule 17: Liability and insurance

Barnet water polo club does not accept responsibility for accident, incident, injury , loss of property or damage of property. 

all other insurance are parents responsibility including insurance os students personal property while attending the course or on the way to or from the CLUB


Rule 18: It is forbidden in our CLUB setting for parents to contact privately our Coaches and ask for private tuition lessons or contact other parents of the club setting for the purpose of initiate a private session or class that the club has not organised .

Should any parents or coaches be found in this position the member ,coach, Parents ,will be dismissed immediately from the school and a penalty fee up to £1000 will be issued to the responsible person.



Rule 19: Online Setting

Online setting is in place unless, for any reason, lessons are not possible to be delivered face to face 


Rule 20 : Car park

Car parking

Use of the car park is not permitted if permitted under own responsibility.

Swim England Child Safeguarding Policies and Procedures 


POLICIES AND DOCUMENTS 
FOR INSURANCE PURPOSES:

If your child is under 10 yrs, please ensure a parent or responsible adult is present for the duration of their session. Children should not be dropped off at the pool then collected later unless they are over 10 years old.

For older children, parents should ensure they arrive 10 mins before the end of a session to collect their children. The club is not responsible for children in the changing rooms and after they have left poolside. please collect your children promptly.
